Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and The Asia Foundation to Deploy Digital Solutions for Business

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of Uzbekistan hosted an official meeting with a delegation from the prominent international non-profit organization, The Asia Foundation.

The foreign delegation was led by Josh Friedman, Director of Public Sector Development at the foundation. The primary objective of the negotiations was to define key vectors for long-term cooperation in modernizing the country's business environment.

Established in 1954, The Asia Foundation currently implements comprehensive programs in nearly 20 countries across the Asia-Pacific region. The foundation's core areas of activity traditionally focus on improving public governance mechanisms, stimulating private entrepreneurship, strengthening the rule of law, and systematically increasing the openness, accountability, and transparency of state institutions.

During the dialogue, CCI representatives and the foreign guests discussed practical matters concerning comprehensive support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), improving business climate metrics, boosting Uzbekistan's investment attractiveness, and accelerating the deployment of digital public services.

The participants placed special emphasis on the need to radically simplify access to public services for business entities, broaden channels for electronic interaction between businesses and government agencies, strengthen legal protection mechanisms for private property owners, and unlock the potential of modern digital platforms.

In addition, the parties reviewed regulatory aspects and prospects for launching joint initiatives aimed at promoting business transparency, strengthening trust among foreign investors, and minimizing corruption risks.

Following the negotiations, a firm agreement was reached between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and The Asia Foundation to jointly develop innovative digital solutions, launch practical projects to support the business community, and consistently expand their bilateral partnership.
