Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan Sign Mining Sector Agreements
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A solemn ceremony for signing a package of bilateral documents aimed at qualitatively expanding and deepening Uzbek-Azerbaijani economic cooperation took place on the sidelines of the V Tashkent International Investment Forum.
The official event was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov.
The strategic focus of the new agreements is the strengthening of industrial cooperation in the fields of geology, rational use of subsoil resources, and the mining industry.
Within this agenda, the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan concluded a cooperation agreement with the Azerbaijani state company AzerGold.
This document regulates the launch of joint programs in conducting geological exploration, the comprehensive development of promising deposits of solid minerals, and the mutual exchange of advanced scientific and production practices and industry experience.
In parallel, the Uzbek side reached concrete agreements with the international investment group NEQSOL Holding.
The partnership with this holding company will focus on the preparation and practical implementation of joint investment projects related to the efficient development of mineral and raw material resources.
According to the heads of governments, the signed agreements form a solid legal foundation for attracting foreign capital over the long term, implementing innovative mining technologies on a large scale, and elevating the industrial partnership between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan to a qualitatively new level.
