Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have discussed prospects for bilateral military cooperation and signed a plan for joint work in 2027.

Uzbekistan’s Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov, met with Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, during a working visit by an Uzbek delegation to Azerbaijan. The meeting took place on 30 September in Baku.

The sides noted that military cooperation between the two countries is based on friendly and fraternal relations and emphasized its importance for developing and strengthening the armed forces of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

During the talks, the ministers discussed cooperation in military affairs and military education, as well as other issues related to defense cooperation.

Following the meeting, the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan signed the Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan for 2027.
