Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan launch new joint projects
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev took part in a ceremony launching new joint projects covering banking, construction materials, education, tourism and housing infrastructure, mineral processing and horticulture, the Uzbek presidential press service said.
The ceremony highlighted the continued strengthening of strategic partnership and alliance relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in recent years. Trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries has also reached a new level.
The projects launched at the event cover several areas, including cooperation in banking, the production of modern construction materials and the establishment of educational institutions.
The joint initiatives also include the development of fuel station infrastructure, construction of major tourism and residential complexes, mineral processing and horticultural development.
During the ceremony, participants connected online with project sites in the regions. Representatives of the facilities provided updates on the progress of the work.
The event highlighted that the new projects are expected to expand cooperation between the business communities of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, increase mutual investment and create new jobs.
The implementation of the initiatives is also intended to give the two countries’ trade and economic cooperation more concrete practical substance.
