Uzbekistan and South Korea Hold Political Consultations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and South Korea held a new round of political consultations between their foreign ministries on 15 June 2026 in Tashkent.

The Uzbek delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Mirvokhid Azimov, while the South Korean side was headed by Vice Foreign Minister Chung Eui-hae. The meeting took place in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.

The sides noted the dynamic development of Uzbekistan–South Korea relations within the framework of a special strategic partnership and highlighted the expansion of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

During the talks, the parties focused on prospects for further deepening cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian areas.

They also discussed measures to increase bilateral trade volumes and implement joint projects in sectors including transport, healthcare, and education.

The parties reviewed the implementation of agreements reached during previous high-level visits and defined priority areas of cooperation for the near future, as well as a schedule of upcoming engagements.
