Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov met with Masdar Executive Director for Business and Project Development Abdulla Muhammad Abdulla Zaid on 6 October.

The sides discussed the implementation of ongoing projects and prospects for new projects in the renewable energy sector.

The talks covered the current state of cooperation and further expansion of Masdar’s investment activities in Uzbekistan.

The company’s portfolio in the country includes nine renewable energy projects with total investments of US$4.2 billion and a combined capacity of 4.8 GW.

Particular attention was paid to accelerating the implementation of solar energy and energy storage projects.

The sides also considered opportunities to develop new prospective projects in these areas.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in further developing cooperation and implementing investment initiatives in the renewable energy sector.
