Uzbekistan and ICCROM Expand Cultural Heritage Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Abat Faizullaev held a meeting with the Director-General of the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM), Aruna Francesca Maria Gujral.
During the talks, the head of ICCROM expressed satisfaction with Uzbekistan’s accession to the organization in 2024 and noted that the memorandum of understanding with the republic had been signed in a short timeframe. She said this reflects strong attention to cultural heritage and the effectiveness of ongoing reforms.
The sides discussed ICCROM’s implemented activities in the Samarkand region, as well as current cooperation with the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation.
Special attention was given to the importance of Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage for the international community. Aruna Gujral also expressed her intention to visit Uzbekistan later this year.
