Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and China held a roundtable in the capital to discuss expanded investment cooperation in the agricultural sector and the implementation of new projects.

The event was organized by the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan jointly with the Ministry of Agriculture and Aloqabank.

It brought together representatives of government bodies from both countries, financial institutions, and leading Chinese companies. Participants reviewed ongoing initiatives and new areas of cooperation in agriculture.

Opening the roundtable, Ichtiyor Niyazmurodov, head of a department of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan, highlighted the importance of developing agricultural cooperation.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Akmal Kosimov presented Uzbekistan’s investment potential, with particular attention to the Samarkand and Jizzakh regions, as well as ongoing reforms and conditions created for foreign investors.

Deputy khokims of the Samarkand and Jizzakh regions, Khurshid Samiyev and Begzod Egamov, presented regional projects and areas for potential cooperation with Chinese investors.

The event featured the presentation of the “Smart Agriculture” initiative developed by the Uzbekistan–China Investment Attraction Center.

Participants discussed improving efficiency in the agricultural sector through digital technologies, innovative solutions, and modern management approaches.

During an open dialogue, the sides also reviewed the implementation of joint projects, existing challenges, and possible solutions, as well as new investment proposals. A number of agreements were signed following the talks.

In addition, B2B and G2B meetings were held with representatives of the Samarkand and Jizzakh regions and Chinese investors. Discussions focused on launching new regional projects, attracting investment, and expanding production capacity.
