Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Construction of a new textile cluster by Textile Horizon LLC has begun at Azerbaijan’s Mingachevir Industrial Park with the participation of Uzbek businesses.
The foundation-laying ceremony for the production complex was held on 26 September in the presence of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
The event was attended by Aliyev, Azersheker LLC Chairman of the Board Nasib Islamzade and Uzbek company Global Textile Group Chairman Musaffar Razakov. They pressed a button to launch construction of the new facility.
The founders of Textile Horizon LLC are Azerbaijan’s Azersheker, Uzbekistan’s Global Textile and the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Investment Fund.
The production complex will occupy an area of 11.2 hectares. The project envisages a full-cycle production process, from cotton cultivation to the production of cotton lint, yarn, dyed fabric and finished textile products.
The project is being implemented as part of expanding investment and industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in the textile industry.
