Uzbekistan Airways to install Boeing 787-9 flight simulator

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan Airways will install Central Asia's first Level D full-flight simulator (FFS) for the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner at its Training Center in Tashkent, the airline announced during an event marking 10 years of operating Dreamliner aircraft.

The acquisition of the simulator is provided for under a contract between Uzbekistan Airways and Boeing for the delivery of 22 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. Manufactured by Canadian company CAE Inc., the device will achieve Level D certification, the highest standard for flight simulators.

The simulator precisely replicates the flight deck, aircraft systems, and flight characteristics, enabling a full pilot training cycle to be conducted directly in Uzbekistan.

Launching the simulator will make flight crew preparation more autonomous and reduce the need to send pilots to foreign training centers. The airline noted the move is particularly timely ahead of the upcoming expansion of its Dreamliner fleet.

Uzbekistan Airways has operated Boeing 787 aircraft for a decade. The airline received its first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner in September 2016, followed by a second in November of the same year. A third Dreamliner arrived in 2018, two more joined the fleet in 2019, and the sixth Boeing 787-8 arrived in Tashkent in May 2021.

In 2025, Uzbekistan Airways signed the largest contract in its history for the supply of 22 wide-body Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, with initial deliveries expected starting in 2031.

The carrier stated that expanding its Dreamliner fleet will boost long-haul passenger capacity, broaden its route network, and open new intercontinental routes.
