Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan Airports and cargo airline My Freighter have launched a multimodal project to transport e-commerce cargo from China to European countries via Tashkent International Airport.

The new route operates under a Truck-to-Air model, combining road and air transportation into a single logistics chain. Cargo from various cities in China is first transported by road to Tashkent, where it undergoes the necessary handling procedures. It is then transported by air to Liège Airport in Belgium.

The project was launched on 22 August 2026. To date, seven cargo flights have been operated under the project.

At the next stage, the frequency is planned to increase to four to six flights per week. Each aircraft will carry about 50 tonnes of cargo. Once the planned frequency is reached, weekly e-commerce cargo volumes could reach 200–300 tonnes.

Kamoliddin Bukharaov, head of the cargo operations department at Uzbekistan Airports, said the project would help leverage Tashkent’s transit potential as a multimodal hub between Asia and Europe.

“By combining air and ground transportation, we are creating an efficient logistics route connecting China’s largest e-commerce centers with European markets,” he said.

According to Bukharaov, the project will contribute to the further development of Uzbekistan’s transit potential and strengthen Tashkent’s position in international logistics.
