Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan Airports and Dmitry Hvorostovsky Krasnoyarsk International Airport have discussed prospects for expanding air connectivity between Krasnoyarsk and cities in Uzbekistan. The meeting was attended by Krasnoyarsk airport Director General Kirill Ermakov.
The talks continued a dialogue initiated during the Russian-Uzbek forum in Ferghana. The sides explored opportunities to attract airlines to new routes, expand route networks and develop convenient connecting services.
Particular attention was given to potential routes between Krasnoyarsk and Ferghana, as well as between Krasnoyarsk and Samarkand.
In addition to direct flights, the sides are considering opportunities to develop connecting traffic. Ferghana could provide convenient connections for passengers travelling to Istanbul, while Samarkand could serve as a transfer point for those heading to Tel Aviv and Dubai.
Krasnoyarsk, in turn, could be used by passengers from Uzbekistan as a transit hub for onward travel to cities in Russia’s Far East and China.
Following the meeting, Uzbekistan Airports and Krasnoyarsk International Airport agreed to work jointly on potential routes and opportunities to attract air carriers.
Another area of cooperation will involve joint marketing projects with airlines and tourism industry representatives. These initiatives will aim to promote new destinations, develop tourism products and increase passenger demand.
The sides therefore plan to develop both direct air services and transit connections linking Uzbekistan with Siberia, Russia’s Far East and other international destinations.
