Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbek sports officials held meetings with International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry and leaders of major international sports organizations during the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan reported.
The talks were attended by Otabek Umarov, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia and First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, and Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva, a member of the World Aquatics Bureau of the Executive Committee and First Deputy Chairwoman of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan.
The sides discussed prospects for further cooperation within the international sports community and issues related to supporting the Olympic movement.
Particular attention was paid to creating the necessary conditions for athletes and ensuring the high-quality organization of major international sporting events.
The participants also discussed further development of cooperation and interaction within international sports organizations.
