Urgench Blogger Jailed for 15 Days Over Traffic Violations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A blogger in Urgench has been sentenced to 15 days of administrative detention for serious violations of traffic regulations and public order, Uzbekistan's Road Safety Service said.
According to the agency, the individual deliberately violated traffic rules, repeatedly performed dangerous manoeuvres and disrupted public order through his actions.
The Road Safety Service said videos of the incidents were widely shared on social media. After reviewing the case materials, a court imposed a 15-day administrative detention sentence.
The agency stressed that deliberate violations of traffic regulations and public order carry legal liability under Uzbek law.
The Road Safety Service also urged citizens not to endanger their own lives or the lives of others for the sake of creating social media content, reminding the public that compliance with traffic rules is essential for ensuring the safety of all road users.
