Türkiye and Uzbekistan Expand Cultural Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Cooperation between Türkiye and Uzbekistan in the cultural sphere continues to strengthen, supported by the development of joint projects and regular dialogue between relevant institutions.

As part of the 3rd International Dance Festival “Lazgi”, held in Khiva from April 25 to 30, the third meeting of the Joint Commission on Cultural Cooperation between the two countries took place on April 27. The session was co-chaired by Türkiye’s Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Batuhan Mumcu and Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Culture Murodjon Majidov.

The meeting brought together representatives and experts from both countries working in cultural heritage, museum affairs, intangible cultural heritage, as well as cinema, theatre and performing arts.

The sides discussed a broad range of issues, including the preservation and promotion of shared cultural heritage, expansion of cooperation between museums, implementation of joint film projects, development of theatre and stage arts, as well as exchange programs for creative groups and organization of joint cultural events.

Special attention was given to strengthening institutional cooperation and expanding practical mechanisms of collaboration in the cultural field.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a protocol of the Joint Commission was signed, formalizing agreements on the further development of cultural ties between Türkiye and Uzbekistan.

The Turkish side reaffirmed its commitment to deepening cooperation with Uzbekistan, emphasizing its intention to consistently advance joint initiatives and projects in the cultural domain.
