Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and the European Union discussed cooperation in the transport sector, with the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor (TTC) highlighted as a stable and reliable route linking Uzbekistan with European markets.
Uzbekistan’s Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov held talks with Peteris Ustubs, Director for Asia and the Pacific at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for International Partnerships.
The meeting took place ahead of the second National Conference on the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor, which is being held in Uzbekistan as part of the TTC Coordination Platform.
The sides discussed cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union in the transport sector, with particular attention to promoting investment and reforms along the TTC route.
They also discussed the development of more reliable and long-term trade ties between Uzbekistan and the European Union.
During the meeting, the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor was described as a stable and reliable transport route for strengthening connectivity between Uzbekistan and European markets.
