Three Rescued After Being Trapped in Collapsed Navoi Gold Mine
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Emergency response teams in the Navoi region have successfully rescued three citizens who were trapped underground following a mine collapse. The incident took place during an unauthorized excavation at an illegal gold mining site, according to regional law enforcement and emergency services.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) reported that the three individuals were caught beneath a heavy layer of collapsed soil and debris while attempting to manually extract gold-bearing ore. Upon receiving the emergency call, regional rescue units were immediately dispatched to the scene to conduct a rapid excavation and extraction operation.
Thanks to the prompt and coordinated actions of the first responders, all three individuals were successfully reached and pulled from the debris alive.
Following their extraction, the rescued citizens were immediately turned over to emergency medical personnel at the site. After receiving initial first aid, they were transported to a local medical facility for comprehensive examination and treatment of their injuries.
