Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A meeting was held in Tashkent to discuss a project to establish a branch of Kwangwoon University, a higher education institution based in Seoul, in Uzbekistan.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Tashkent hokimiyat, higher education and investment sectors, as well as the Korean-Uzbek Business Association.
The meeting was chaired by Tashkent Deputy Hokim and Head of the Department of Digital Development A. Dusmukhamedov and Edward Kim, Honorary Adviser to the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan and CEO of the Korean-Uzbek Business Association.
The discussions were also attended by B. Rajabov, Head of the Tashkent City Department of Higher Education, Science and Innovation; O. Tuychiev, Rector of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent; B. Mustafoev, Deputy Hokim of Yakkasaray District; and M. Abdurashitov, Head of a Department at the Tashkent City Department of Investment, Industry and Trade.
The proposed branch is expected to develop modern educational programs and research activities in artificial intelligence, software, computer and information engineering, information convergence and robotics.
To implement the project, the Tashkent City Department of Investment, Industry and Trade proposed three potential locations.
Following the meeting, the sides agreed to examine the proposed options in line with Kwangwoon University’s requirements, determine the optimal location for the branch, and clarify the list of educational programs and infrastructure requirements.
The participants also plan to determine the sequence of further steps required to implement the project.
