Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Six Uzbek citizens who were wanted internationally through Interpol on suspicion of committing crimes of varying severity have been extradited from the United Arab Emirates to Uzbekistan.
The extradited group includes five men and one woman, Uzbekistan’s National Central Bureau of Interpol said.
The arrests and subsequent extraditions were carried out as part of cooperation between the National Central Bureaus of Interpol in Uzbekistan and the UAE, as well as the competent authorities of the two countries.
The cooperation involves the rapid exchange of information and coordination of efforts to locate, detain and return individuals wanted internationally.
Since the beginning of this year, 16 Uzbek citizens have been extradited from the UAE to Uzbekistan through Interpol channels.
