Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The prosecutors general of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan have signed an agreement on cooperation in countering terrorism and extremism.
The document provides for the prompt exchange of information on individuals and organisations recognised as terrorist or extremist in one of the participating countries.
Under the agreement, the parties will also inform each other about possible threats to state sovereignty and planned terrorist attacks.
Another area of cooperation will involve sharing information on individuals involved in terrorist activities. This includes foreign militants and individuals returning to their countries of origin.
The agreement also provides for the exchange of information about their family members.
The agreement also covers efforts to combat transnational crime. The parties intend to exchange information on people involved in human trafficking, arms and drug trafficking, as well as organisers of illegal migration.
The agreements are aimed at coordinating the activities of law enforcement agencies in the six countries and speeding up information exchange on cases of mutual interest.
