Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee held a meeting with representatives of Japanese company Seibu Prince Hotels and Resorts, which specializes in international hotel and resort management.

The sides discussed the development of hotel infrastructure, the attraction of international brands and prospects for new investment projects in the tourism sector.

During the meeting, Uzbek representatives presented information on the results of tourism sector development in recent years, infrastructure modernization and the implementation of new hotel projects.

Particular attention was paid to opportunities to expand the presence of international hotel companies in Uzbekistan’s market.

The participants also considered the potential application in Uzbekistan of Seibu Prince Hotels and Resorts’ experience in international hotel management, marketing and improving service quality.

The company is part of Japan’s Seibu Group and manages hotels, resorts, golf courses and other leisure facilities in Japan and abroad. According to the company, its network comprises more than 100 hotels in 13 countries. Seibu Prince Hotels and Resorts plans to expand its global network to 250 properties in the future.

The prospects for developing modern hotel facilities in Uzbekistan’s tourism-attractive regions were also discussed.

The sides considered the possibility of attracting international brands, introducing modern hotel management technologies and international service standards.

The participants also exchanged views on further developing tourism cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan.

Areas of cooperation included the exchange of experience in the hotel business, personnel training and improvement of specialists’ professional skills.

The sides also considered opportunities to implement new investment projects aimed at developing hotel infrastructure and expanding international cooperation in the tourism sector.
