SCO Business Council Explores Investment in Uzbek IT Startups
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan and the Business Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) met to discuss investment opportunities in Uzbekistan's IT startups and the development of digital infrastructure.
The delegation from the SCO Business Council included Deputy Director Yao Jiangtao, Executive Director of the MOX Project Participation Department Sun Qi, and Uzbekistan Project Coordinator Jiang Hao.
The parties reviewed prospects for developing data centers and research and development (R&D) infrastructure, alongside measures to support tech companies and assist Uzbek startups in entering international markets.
SCO Business Council representatives signaled preliminary investment intentions for projects being developed by Uzbekistan's IT startups. Specifically, discussions covered solutions in electronic mapping and mobile navigation services, government information platforms, as well as transport and healthcare information systems.
Additionally, the sides explored potential comprehensive technology projects combining computing power, energy supply, and operational infrastructure.
Cooperation in R&D, technological solution development, and supporting the international expansion and export of IT products and services from Uzbek startups were also identified as key focus areas.
Following the meeting, representatives of the SCO Business Council were advised to continue discussions on potential investment projects with the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan.
