Samarkand Region and Lasselsberger to Launch Building Materials Plant
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Khokim of Samarkand region Adiz Boboev held an official meeting with Josef Lasselsberger, Chief Executive Officer of the Austrian industrial company Lasselsberger Group.
The negotiations, organized on the sidelines of the fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum (TMIF-2026), were dedicated to assessing the current status and defining the long-term prospects of a large-scale investment project deployed in the Nurabad district of Samarkand region.
The large industrial complex will occupy a territory with a total area of 40 hectares. The design capacity of the enterprise provides for the launch of high-tech lines for the production of microcalcite, porcelain stoneware, as well as modern terrazzo tiles.
As emphasized by the meeting participants, the launch of this facility will make a significant contribution to strengthening the industrial potential of the region, substantially expand the domestic market for quality building materials, create new jobs, increase the localization level, and grow the volume of export deliveries from Samarkand region.
During the dialogue, Adiz Boboev focused attention on the fact that forming a stable and transparent business environment for foreign capital is one of the key priorities of the regional administration.
The head of the region confirmed the strategic importance of the Lasselsberger Group initiative and guaranteed the readiness of the khokimiyat to provide comprehensive administrative and infrastructural support at all subsequent stages of project implementation.
Following the negotiations, the Austrian investors and the regional leadership agreed to continue systematic interaction aimed at further expanding production capacities, mastering new product lines, and attracting additional investments into the project.
