Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) - The success of Uzbek para-athletes at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games continues. A few minutes ago, the final among women in shot put discipline (category F12) ended.

Our representative in para-track and field athletics Safiya Burkhanova showed the result of 14.78 m, which ensured her a gold medal. It should be noted that her performance was marked as the best this season. The second place was taken by the Italian Assunta Legnate (14.62), and the third - Rebecca Alvarez (13.72) from Mexico.

At the Rio 2016 Paralympics Burkhanova became the silver medalist. Uzbekistan won 17 medals at Tokyo Paralympics (7 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze medals).
