Russian delegation explores Uzbekistan’s tourism potential
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia visited Tashkent, Samarkand and Tashkent Region as part of a familiarization tour focused on Uzbekistan’s tourism potential. The Russian representatives studied tourism infrastructure and opportunities for organizing trips for trade union members and their families, Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee said.
In Tashkent, the delegation visited tourist and cultural sites in the capital, including the Center of Islamic Civilization, and reviewed modern infrastructure for tourists.
In Samarkand, the Russian representatives visited the city’s main attractions and explored its historical and cultural heritage. Particular attention was paid to opportunities for developing cultural and educational tourism and pilgrimage tourism.
In Tashkent Region, the delegation visited tourism and recreational facilities, including sanatoriums and children’s health camps. Participants assessed their potential for family, children’s and health resort recreation.
The program also included a trip on the Afrosiyob high-speed train from Tashkent to Samarkand. The Russian representatives gained first-hand experience of the rail connection between two of Uzbekistan’s tourism centers.
Following the familiarization tour, the delegation gained an overview of tourism facilities and infrastructure in Uzbekistan that could be included in organized holiday programs for Russian trade union members and their families.
The visit followed agreements between Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee and the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia and is aimed at further developing mutual tourism exchanges.
