Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree restricting the export of more than 1 million rubles in cash from Russia to the EAEU member states, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

An exception applies to cash exported through airports to be specified by the Russian government. In such cases, individuals will be required to provide a bank statement confirming that the cash was withdrawn from their own account.

If the restriction is violated, the cash will be confiscated. For individuals, the amount exceeding 1 million rubles will be seized, while for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, the entire amount will be subject to confiscation.

Previously, individuals were subject to a restriction on exporting cash equivalent to US$100,000. The previous restrictions did not apply to Azerbaijan, Tajikistan or Uzbekistan.

The new rules affect, among other things, cash transactions between Russia and Uzbekistan.
