Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — As part of an official working visit to Washington, the Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, Gayane Umerova, visited the United States Library of Congress. The Uzbek delegation was given a guided tour of collections related to Uzbekistan.
The visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships and expand the global presence of Uzbekistan’s cultural and literary heritage.
The tour was led by Joan Weeks, Head of the Near East and Africa Section. The delegation examined rare manuscripts, printed works, and archival materials reflecting Uzbekistan’s history and intellectual traditions, as well as library cataloging principles and collection preservation standards.
At the conclusion of the visit, discussions focused on future collaboration, including digitization initiatives and the development of joint research projects.
