Abdulaziz Kamilov attends the C5 + 1 meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Central Asia and the United States
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 September 2021, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, via videoconference, took part in the meeting of the heads of foreign affairs of Central Asia and the United States in the "C5 + 1" format, organized within the framework of the 76th session UN General Assembly.
The meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the US Secretary of State.
The heads of the foreign ministries exchanged views on topical issues of developing cooperation in the spheres of the economy, regional security, combating terrorism and extremism, overcoming the socio-economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The heads of the delegations reviewed the situation in Afghanistan, spoke in favor of rendering assistance to the Afghan people to prevent a humanitarian crisis, and the implementation of infrastructure projects that contribute to the integration of this country into regional economic processes.
They especially noted the need to consolidate the efforts of the international community in the fight against common challenges and threats to the stability and security of the countries of the region.
A joint statement was adopted following the meeting.
