Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — More than 50 Uzbek citizens work for Dutch construction company MMBS Groep, which specializes in facade and construction work and plans to expand cooperation with Uzbekistan on organized labor migration.

The information was reported in a segment by the Fakt24 program on Uzbekistan 24 television channel.

MMBS Groep was founded in 2001. The company carries out facade work, bricklaying and building renovation. It currently employs more than 100 specialists and has completed more than 1,500 projects.

More than 50 Uzbek citizens work for the company in the Dutch city of Utrecht. According to the report, the professional experience they gain is seen as evidence of the demand for Uzbek specialists in the international labor market.

A meeting with company representatives took place during a visit by an Uzbek delegation to the Netherlands led by the Vatandoshlar Public Foundation. The participants discussed further cooperation in labor migration and the expansion of relevant programs between the two countries.

MMBS Groep CEO Zakariya Machuahi said the company had faced difficulties in the Netherlands in finding specialists in the required fields, after which it began recruiting workers from Uzbekistan.

According to him, MMBS Groep has been cooperating with Uzbekistan for more than four years. He said the cooperation had helped the company expand its operations and meet the requirements of the Dutch economy.

“The main focus was on our current cooperation and plans to build a bridge between the labor markets of Uzbekistan and the Netherlands,” Machuahi said.

He also said the company was holding talks with several Dutch government institutions on establishing direct interaction between the governments of the two countries.

In the future, MMBS Groep plans to recruit up to 6,000 additional workers from Uzbekistan under organized labor migration programs.

One of the Uzbek specialists working for the company, Sherzod Khalilov, said he had been working in the Netherlands for about four years and was mainly involved in the restoration of old buildings.

He said working in the Netherlands allows specialists to gain new experience while also creating conditions for a more secure future for their families.
