Opera Flashmob Held at Tashkent Airport

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A musical flashmob was held at Tashkent International Airport as part of the Engelberg Opera Festival 2026, featuring a choir and orchestra performance.

The performance took place in the arrivals hall and covered two locations — the baggage claim area and the waiting zone for greeting passengers. For arriving visitors, including international passengers, the musical performance served as their first introduction to the cultural atmosphere of the capital.

Around 50 participants took part in the event, including musicians and soloists from the Youth Choir of Uzbekistan. The live performance featured operatic works and popular soundtracks accompanied by an orchestra consisting of violins, cellos, violas, flute, saxophone, keyboards, and percussion instruments.

It is noted that such initiatives aim to reimagine airport spaces not only as transport hubs but also as places that create a first cultural impression of the country for arriving passengers.

The flashmob formed part of cooperation efforts supporting cultural and image-building projects aimed at promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and creating a positive experience for visitors.
