Namangan and Mingachevir seek to expand cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from Uzbekistan’s Namangan region, led by regional Governor Shavkat Abdurazzakov, discussed expanding regional cooperation and implementing joint projects with the leadership of Mingachevir in Azerbaijan.
The talks focused on trade and economic ties, investment, industry, energy, tourism and entrepreneurship, the Namangan regional administration said.
The meeting was held with Mingachevir Executive Authority head Ilham Ismailov. The participants discussed developing direct ties between regions of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan and opportunities to establish new business contacts between entrepreneurs.
The sides also considered increasing mutual trade, attracting investment and implementing joint projects. They agreed to exchange experience in various areas and expand cooperation between enterprises in the two regions.
The talks noted that Mingachevir’s industrial and energy potential and the investment opportunities of Namangan region provide a basis for further development of joint projects.
The Mingachevir side also presented the city’s opportunities in industry and energy. During the visit, the Namangan delegation toured Mingachevir Textile and Azerenerji, where it reviewed production processes, existing capacities, technologies in use and plans for further development.
Separate talks were held with the companies’ management. The participants discussed prospects for cooperation in industry, energy and investment, including the exchange of production experience, implementation of new projects and introduction of modern technologies.
In addition to economic issues, the sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in tourism and cultural and humanitarian areas.
The meetings resulted in agreements to continue cooperation in the identified areas and implement prospective projects.
