Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on 5 October.

During the conversation, the Uzbek president congratulated the Tajik leader on his birthday and wished him good health, well-being and success in his state activities.

The presidents discussed further development of friendship, good-neighborly relations, strategic partnership and allied ties between the two countries.

The sides noted positive dynamics in bilateral cooperation across a wide range of areas. In particular, mutual trade continues to grow steadily, while cooperation is ongoing in transport, energy, geology, agriculture, water management and other sectors.

Particular attention was paid to developing interregional ties and cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

Mirziyoyev and Rahmon also exchanged views on regional issues and discussed the schedule of upcoming bilateral and multilateral events.
