MIIT, Aviagen Discuss Poultry Investment Project

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Ilzat Kasimov met with Tjark Osterndorff, Director of Aviagen CA, to discuss the implementation of an investment project and prospects for further cooperation.

The meeting took place on 5 August at the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade (MIIT). The discussions focused on the current progress of the project, the results achieved so far and plans for its further development.

The parties also reviewed the project's transition to the implementation stage, discussed solutions to existing organisational issues and explored opportunities to expand cooperation.

Following the talks, the sides agreed to continue systematic cooperation and maintain regular working dialogue to ensure the timely and effective implementation of the project.

Aviagen is one of the world's leading companies in poultry genetics. It specialises in the breeding, development and supply of high-performance breeding stock for the poultry meat industry, including broilers and turkeys.

Earlier, it was reported that U.S.-based Aviagen Broiler Breeding Group plans to implement a US$40 million project in Uzbekistan to establish a modern poultry farming cluster.
