Legendary Culinary Show MasterChef to Be Adapted in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The international media group Banijay Entertainment, one of the world's largest producers and distributors of television content headquartered in Paris, has officially announced its entry into the Central Asian market. The popular global television format of the culinary show MasterChef will get an official adaptation in Uzbekistan.

According to a release from the distribution arm Banijay Rights, the MasterChef Uzbekistan project will air on the domestic television channel Zo’r TV. Viewers will be presented with a debut season consisting of ten episodes. The production process of the local version is fully entrusted to the New Media Group company. Concurrently, a similar ten-episode adaptation of the format is being prepared by Azerbaijan, where the broadcast of MasterChef Azerbaijan is scheduled on the state television channel Ictimai TV.

The agreements to launch the franchise in both markets were concluded by Alexander Rubanov, Vice President of Banijay Rights for Romania, the CIS, Ukraine, Georgia, the Baltics, and Turkey. The media group representative described Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan as "new frontiers" for the international franchise, expressing firm confidence that the new projects will generate high interest and resonate with the local audience.

Banijay emphasizes that expanding the format's geography into Central Asia continues the brand's global development strategy. Created by Franc Roddam, the MasterChef show first aired in 1990 in the United Kingdom.

Today, the project is officially recognized by the Guinness World Records as the most successful culinary format in the world: more than 750 seasons, including over 16,000 episodes, have been produced globally across various countries.
