Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Braille Recognition, a startup developed by Ferghana-based developer Muhammadkodir Abduvoitov, has won the AI for Public Good category at the ASOCIO Digital & AI Awards 2026.
The award was presented to the project’s founder at a ceremony in Jakarta, the event organizer said.
The ASOCIO Digital & AI Awards 2026 events were held on 5–7 October in the Indonesian capital. Specialists from Asia-Pacific countries working in digital technology and artificial intelligence took part.
Braille Recognition won the AI for Public Good category with a project that uses artificial intelligence technologies to recognize Braille.
The mobile application uses a smartphone camera to recognize text written in Braille and convert it into regular text. The functionality can be used by people with visual impairments, their relatives and in education.
The recognition at the ASOCIO Digital & AI Awards represents an international achievement for the Ferghana-based developer and his project, which focuses on using digital technologies to address social challenges.
The ASOCIO Digital & AI Awards were established by the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO), which brings together representatives of the technology industry across the region.
