Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met in Tokyo on 17 September with Taro Aso, Vice President of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party and Chairman of the Uzbekistan–Japan Parliamentary Friendship League.

Saidov noted Aso’s longstanding personal contribution to the development of Uzbek-Japanese relations and highly valued his work as head of the parliamentary friendship group between the two countries.

During the meeting, the sides discussed further strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan, developing interparliamentary dialogue, and expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to the role of parliamentary diplomacy in fully implementing agreements reached at the highest level.
