Won Do-yeon

Won Do-yeon has served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan since June 2024. A graduate of Seoul National University, he entered public service in 1995 and has worked at Korea's Ministry of National Defense, the Government Information Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including postings to Bangladesh, Geneva and New York (the United Nations). Before his appointment to Tashkent, he headed the Foreign Ministry's Bureau of International Development Cooperation. In Uzbekistan, he promotes the special strategic partnership between the two countries in trade, investment, energy, mining, education and labor migration. He took part in preparations for the first Central Asia – Republic of Korea summit.
