Ms. Smita Pant

Smita Pant is the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to the Republic of Uzbekistan and a career diplomat who joined the Indian Foreign Service in 2001. She has served in Indian missions in Madrid, London and Abu Dhabi, and as Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. At the Ministry of External Affairs, she worked on India's relations with Afghanistan, the European Union and the United Kingdom. Before her posting to Tashkent, she was Joint Secretary for Bangladesh and Myanmar. She holds a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology.
