Amazon Leo to Launch Satellite Internet in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan plans to launch satellite internet services provided by Amazon Leo following a cooperation agreement signed between the American company Amazon Leo and Uz-Sat during the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum.
According to the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the project envisages the provision of high-speed satellite internet access across the country.
The new services are expected to be available not only in urban areas but also in remote and hard-to-reach regions where telecommunications infrastructure is limited or unavailable.
The ministry noted that the Amazon Leo network operates based on a constellation of more than 3,000 satellites. The satellites are interconnected via high-speed optical communication channels and integrated with global ground stations, fiber-optic networks, and internet access points.
Users will be able to connect to the network using compact terminals of various types, including Amazon Leo Nano, Amazon Leo Pro, and Amazon Leo Ultra.
According to available information, the launch of Amazon Leo services in Uzbekistan could take place in 2026.
