Amazon Leo Satellite Internet Deal Signed for Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A cooperation agreement between US company Amazon Leo and the joint venture UZ-SAT LLC has been signed at the Tashkent International Investment Forum to introduce high-speed satellite internet services across Uzbekistan.

The document was signed during an official ceremony at which the parties discussed the key areas of cooperation as well as the organisational and technical mechanisms for implementing the project.

According to information presented at the signing, the project provides for the launch of satellite internet access services throughout the country. The service is expected to provide connectivity not only in cities but also in remote and hard-to-reach areas where telecommunications infrastructure is limited or absent.

The Amazon Leo network operates on the basis of a constellation of more than 3,000 satellites linked by high-speed optical communication channels and integrated with global ground stations and fibre-optic networks.

Users will have access to compact terminals in various configurations, including the Amazon Leo Nano, Amazon Leo Pro, and Amazon Leo Ultra.

The launch of Amazon Leo's satellite internet service in Uzbekistan could take place as early as 2026.
