Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s Akbar Dzhuraev won the gold medal at the Asian Games in weightlifting with a combined total of 423 kg in the two events.
Dzhuraev lifted 197 kg in the snatch and 226 kg in the clean and jerk. His combined total of 423 kg secured him the championship title.
Dzhuraev also set a new world record in the snatch, as well as new Asian Games records in the snatch and clean and jerk.
