ADB discusses support for reforms in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Asian Development Bank (ADB) discussed with representatives of the government of Uzbekistan further support for reforms in healthcare, education, social protection and professional skills development.

The talks took place from 21 to 25 September as part of an ADB mission to Uzbekistan led by Ayako Inagaki, the bank’s Deputy Director General.

The sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation with both the public and private sectors in areas related to human capital development.

Human capital development is among the priorities of the ADB’s partnership strategy with Uzbekistan.

During the visit, Ayako Inagaki also visited project sites supported by the ADB in Tashkent and Samarkand.

She met with service providers and beneficiaries to review the implementation of the initiatives and assess their results.

Following the meetings, the sides continued discussions on further areas of cooperation in key areas of social and human development.
