Abdulla Azizov Heads New Medical and Pharma Agency in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Abdulla Azizov has been appointed Director of the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The appointment was formalized by a decree signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Following the new appointment, Azizov has been relieved of his previous position as Director of the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry under the Ministry of Health.

The establishment of the new agency is part of ongoing institutional reforms in Uzbekistan’s healthcare system. The proposal to create a unified structure responsible for both medical and pharmaceutical sector development was presented to the head of state on 1 May 2026.
