Uzmetkombinat, Citi Agree on Capital Markets Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's Uzmetkombinat and global financial institution Citi have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to expand cooperation in international debt capital markets, the Uzbek company said.

The document was signed following a meeting in New York on 24 July attended by Uzmetkombinat Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Bakhodir Abdullayev, Deputy Chairman for Finance, Economics and Transformation Hasan Khaydarov, and representatives of Citi.

The parties discussed opportunities to raise financing in international capital markets, diversify funding sources and explore the potential issuance of international debt instruments.

Under the memorandum, the parties will consider using Citi's investment banking expertise, including its potential role as coordinator and bookrunner for future international debt offerings.

Uzmetkombinat said the agreement marks an important step in expanding the company's presence in international financial markets and strengthening its ability to secure financing for strategic investment projects.
