Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has introduced the InfoCards information system, which allows users to obtain information about the reasons for their bank cards being blocked, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said.

The system was introduced by the Central Bank, commercial banks, payment organizations and payment system operators. It enables banks to quickly determine which law enforcement agency blocked a card, when the blocking occurred and the reason for it.

Citizens no longer need to contact the Central Bank separately to obtain such information. They can simply contact the commercial bank servicing their account. Using InfoCards, the bank will be able to obtain the necessary information and explain to the customer which agency blocked the card and why.

The Central Bank said the system is intended to simplify the processing of citizens’ inquiries, reduce unnecessary administrative procedures, and improve the speed and transparency of banking services.
