Uzbekistan, Huawei Sign Energy System MoU

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Energy, Silk Road Energy Planning and Engineering, and China’s Huawei signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at conducting advanced testing of the country’s energy system as part of “Energy Week Uzbekistan – 2026.”

The agreement provides for the development of technological cooperation to improve the reliability and resilience of the national power system, as well as to enhance electricity grid management and the integration of renewable energy sources.

Special attention will be given to the implementation of real-time simulators and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) technology. These solutions will enable testing of power plants and control systems under conditions closely resembling real operation, including the simulation of fault scenarios without risk to infrastructure.

The memorandum is seen as a basis for expanding technological cooperation, introducing international expertise, and improving the safety and efficiency of Uzbekistan’s energy system.
