Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan recorded 222,500 real estate purchase and sale transactions in January-August 2026, an 18.4% increase compared with the same period last year.
The updated housing market review was presented by the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR).
Around 25,100 housing transactions were registered in August. Compared with August 2025, the figure was virtually unchanged, increasing by 0.2%.
Market activity varied throughout the year. The number of transactions rose sharply to 43,500 in March, but activity declined in April and May. The market recovered to 25,000-26,000 transactions per month in June and July, while August remained at roughly the same level.
The largest increases since the beginning of the year were recorded in Tashkent, Syrdarya and Andijan regions.
In August, 7,400 housing purchase and sale agreements were registered in the capital, 2.2% more than a year earlier. Over the first eight months of the year, the number of transactions in Tashkent increased by 27.5%.
Housing sales in Syrdarya region rose by 25.4% in January-August, while Andijan region recorded a 23.8% increase.
In August, year-on-year growth in housing market activity was recorded in six of Uzbekistan’s 14 regions.
