Uzbekistan, Georgia agree to expand economic partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov held a series of meetings in Tbilisi on 30 June and 1 July 2026 to develop practical economic partnership between Uzbekistan and Georgia ahead of an upcoming official high-level visit.

During negotiations with Georgian Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili, the two sides agreed on future steps to expand bilateral cooperation.

In particular, an agreement was reached to prepare several documents for signing aimed at developing trade, investment, transport, and logistics ties. The parties also agreed to hold the 11th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Georgia in the autumn of this year.

Additionally, the head of Uzbekistan's Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade held talks with the leadership of 22 Georgian companies and organizations. Following the meetings, agreements were reached to implement projects in industry, construction, logistics, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, energy, the oil and gas sector, and the production of building materials.

The sides paid special attention to the financial support of joint projects. During the discussions, they reviewed the further development of TBC operations in Uzbekistan, the creation of an investment platform to attract funds from international funds, and the formation of a fund to support industrial cooperation projects.
