Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s futsal team concluded its European tour with two friendly matches against the Netherlands, losing 0-1 on 21 September and 3-6 on 22 September.
In the first match, the only goal was scored in the 13th minute by Tevfik Ceyyar. Uzbekistan tried to change the course of the game, but the Netherlands maintained their narrow lead until the final whistle.
In the second match, Uzbekistan opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Abbos Elmurodov. Two minutes later, Ayoub Boukhari restored parity.
Mo Cich put the Netherlands ahead in the 16th minute, and Stan van der Wal extended the hosts’ lead two minutes later. Mashrab Adilov reduced the deficit before halftime, making it 3-2.
After the break, Ismail Ouaddou increased the Netherlands’ advantage to two goals. In the 32nd minute, Khusniddin Nishonov reduced the gap again with Uzbekistan’s third goal.
In the final minutes, Jordani Martinus scored twice, in the 38th and 39th minutes, giving the Netherlands a 6-3 victory.
Uzbekistan futsal head coach Jose Maria Mendez was unable to take part in the team’s European training camp. Following events related to the Uzbekistan Super Cup match, the Spanish coach experienced health problems. He underwent an initial medical examination in Uzbekistan before returning to Spain early for further diagnostic tests.
Under an agreement, Mendez was due to undergo the necessary medical examinations in Spain, receive the relevant medical reports and then join the team in Budapest. The Football Federation of Uzbekistan had purchased his airline ticket in advance. He was expected to coach the team in friendly matches against Hungary and the Netherlands.
However, the medical examination took longer than planned. As a result, Mendez was unable to join the Uzbekistan futsal team during its European training camp and is currently continuing treatment in Madrid.
