Uzbekistan Establishes Diplomatic Relations with Rwanda
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has officially established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Rwanda, bringing the total number of countries with which it maintains diplomatic ties to 167, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov announced.
As part of the procedure, the sides signed a Joint Communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations. The document was formalized together with Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Olivier Nduhungirehe. At the same time, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed предусматривающий the creation of a mechanism for political consultations between the two countries.
According to Bakhtiyor Saidov, this step is important for expanding Uzbekistan’s engagement with countries of the African continent and further strengthening its international relations.
